Ingenious! Innovative way to get around those charges, for sure!

We have 4 people on our plan, so we suck up and pay $15 a month for unlimited text. My kids think Twitter is ridiculous (not to mention their mother. lol!). But I’ve been thinking about working on my husband to give it another try …

  2. That’s great! Nice work Brad! Now, if only I could get Jordan to sign up for either Twitter or text messaging…haha.

I use AIM quite a bit to text. To send a message to a phone, just send a new IM to +1XXXXXXXXXX (your phone numbers). Repllies also come right to your IM program as well.

    Nice! Sneaky, sneaky. :)

okay, I’m an idiot….but, don’t you still have to pay when a twitter is sent to your phone? I’m not getting how this is cheaper than texting….

  6. Bradjward says:

Jen pays, I don’t. A text never hits my phone. When she sends me a DM, it only hits my inbox and twitter page.

Where I did ‘on’ then ‘off’ to 40404 on her phone, mine is ‘on’ ‘off’ ‘off’ to shut off everything. My phone is synced so I can update via text if I want to, but otherwise nothing comes through.

Does that make more sense? :-/

oh, yes, yes….because you have internet on your phone! sorry, I’m a little slow…

If only I was one of the cool kids with a media package…..this year we decided to get an african kid instead :)

  8. Bradjward says:

Luckily, work pays for my media package. Otherwise I’d probably be out of luck too :)

  10. Hello! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?
