MacBook: 1 year later

It’s officially been 1 year since I’ve had my MacBook, and it’s been a great laptop. It’s been well traveled and well-used (and well-abused), but it’s as solid as ever and has no signs of slowing down…. like my previous PC laptops that were practically choking to death at the 12-15 month mark.

And I guess it’s true that once they get you in, you’ll slowly start converting. 2 iPods, an iPhone, multiple accessories, and a Mac Mini later, we’re pretty much an Apple household. Nice work, Mr. Jobs. Now stay out of my wallet for awhile.

And in other news, I’ll go over 6,000 blocked spam comments with Akismet today. That’s a lot of spam. But not as much as what is in my FusionCash inbox:

    I’ve seriously have sent 5000 emails to bradmakingcash and you haven’t replied to one yet!

    Gotta love the spam filter on gmail, but it looks like you still have got 400 unread messages. Probably very important stuff. Get to reading.

    I made the switch, too, but only about four months ago. My macbook, too, has been great thus far, and as I get more familiar and comfortable with the mac format, the computer gets better and better. Now that I’ve switched, I’m never going back! Thanks for the feedback on hitting the one-year mark. Any suggestions for a newer mac user?

    Jason – I would try to learn and use a lot of the shortcuts, they are very helpful for getting around quicker. I use the f8,f9,f10,f11 to show windows, show desktop, show widgets, etc. and that’s pretty helpful. The only other advice I tell anyone that asks for it is… BACKUP YOUR DATA! It’s extremely cheap to do and you will absolutely never regret doing it.

    i made the switch after how much i loved the iphone. have an mac air now and love it. i still have to use ubuntu at work but laptop wise i use the mac.
