Here’s a quick video of the bathroom. Almost finished!! Just need to tack down the carpet this weekend and seal the grout.

AAPL goes for a ride

Really… all I can say is that I’m glad we bought a house when we did and didn’t wait until March/April like we planned on doing. Otherwise, my wife might be killing me right now.

DIY: Wireless lighting for house

// January 22nd, 2008 // 2 Comments » // DIY, Great Deals, House

The DealMan strikes again.

Walking through Lowes late Sunday night, a clearance table catches my eye. I walk over to browse the goods, as usual. So I see these light switches… but they aren’t just any light switches. They are wireless, remote-controlled light switches. Intermatic HomeSettings is the brand. And remotes. BOOM. My brain starts turning. I can definitely use these. I want these. I NEED THESE. (more…)

You own a house! Now go shovel the driveway.

// January 22nd, 2008 // 3 Comments » // Brad's Life, DIY, House

Ok, so it didn’t snow bad enough for me to have to shovel, but I was actually kinda looking forward to it. :)   We moved into the house this weekend, and we’re moving right along at getting everything put away and organized.

And we could not have done it without all of this help:

A HUGE THANKS to JT, Sam, Dane, Sue, Shelby, Brett, Justin and of course my Mom and Dad :) We got everything moved over despite the extremely cold weather, and everyone was a huge help!

And yes, first snowfall at the new house overnight.

It’s good to get in and get settled.   Bella loves the back yard.  We love parking in a garage again.  Live is good right now. I’ve got an awesome project going on at the house that is going to be a separate post, but in other DIY news we are finishing the tile this weekend, so the master bedroom will be complete.  After that we just need to frame a door between the bathroom and bedroom and then we’ll be done with our winter projects, and can look forward to some landscaping in the spring!

For a few more pics of the move, just go here.

FusionCash Update

// January 18th, 2008 // 2 Comments » // Brad's Life, Deals

I said I’d give you an update, so here it is. I just cashed out $45, and was told to expect it in my Paypal account on February 20th. Pretty sweet. I know Brian also signed up and is cashing out today with about $30 or so.
If you are going to do it, it’s better to cash out before the 20th of the month, because that’s the cutoff to get paid for the next month. Example: Cashout on Jan 18th, get paid on Feb. 20th. But if you cashout on Jan 21st, then it gets processed Feb. 2 and you get it March 20th. Either way, it’s any awesome deal that doesn’t take much time. You could start today and cash out on the 20th easily.

So, FusionCash.net = success for me. Hope you can make some side cash with it as well.

Free Money at FusionCash!

Funny story though… Brian used his old work # at Butler for all the offers, so Nathan, the new guy, has been getting 6+ calls a day for health insurance, car insurance, mortgage quotes, etc. (Note: no social security or credit card needed, so no ramifications on that end). It’s been hilarious to hear the names Brian has been making up and these telemarketers call for.

And as a reminder, PLEASE be smart enough to set up your secondary spam email at Gmail or wherever.  Look at my account after 2 days:

‘A Couple of People’ are famous!

// January 17th, 2008 // 4 Comments » // Apple

First, if you haven’t subscribed to Matt and Heather’s podcast, you need to.  Even my mom listens to it.  Very inspiring to hear what they are doing and where they are going.  And it so happens that after yesterday’s keynote, Steve Jobs called Matt up and asked if he could feature them on the ‘Personal Journals’ podcast section… at least that’s how I figure it went.  Anyways, Matt said yes and the rest is history.  Here are the screenshots from their blog.  If you don’t believe me, go here before they end up in the Top 10 Podcasts.  That way you can say you knew them before they were famous.

Dear Sister, Revisited.

// January 17th, 2008 // 7 Comments » // Brad's Life, YouTube

So a while back I put together this post of various ‘Dear Sister’ spoofs, and casually mentioned I wanted to make one out of my favorite YouTube video of all time.

Then I got busy and forgot.

Brian hopped on the SNL Digital Short Love Train today, bringing me back to my old post and my unfilled void. So over lunch I whipped it together, and I now present you Dear Sister + Slamball. Enjoy.
