9/11, Hannah Montana, Kenny and Kanye

// September 11th, 2007 // 6 Comments » // Brad's Life, Music, eBay

What a conglomeration of a post. Here goes nothing.

First, don’t forget to say a prayer of rememberance for everyone who had to give their life (both those who died and those who are affected every day but are still here on earth) on 9/11. 6 years ago. Hard to believe. Why is Osama still free? When is the war going to end? Where were you on that day? I was a senior in high school. Mr. Haney’s room, A-1 at RHS. Me and some buddies made a sign that said “honk if you hate terrorists” after school and stood on the hospital corner, getting honks and waves from everyone. Until the cops told us to stop because “there could be terrorists here in town”. Talk about affecting everyone, from NYC to a town of 3,000 in the middle of the cornfields in central IL. We all felt at risk, we were all worried. Never forget that feeling and everyone who has and is fighting for your rights every day.

Next, Hannah Montana. Yeah, I got tickets to her concert here in Indianapolis. Heck no, I’m not going. I’m flippin’ these suckas. Tickets are averaging $250+ each for this sold out concert, so I bought a presale password off eBay for $18 and snatched 4 tickets in section 11. Looking to make $1000-1400 off of them for a nice 4-700% investment. Other tickets are going for much more, including 4 in the upper level in Tennesee that went for $5000. Hopefully mine skyrocket at the last minute. Not sure if I’ll throw the money into savings or treat myself to a new treat (iPhone?). And if they don’t sell, expect a post about the awesome time I had at the Hannah Montana concert.

Buy my Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds Concert Tickets for December 9th at Indianapolis Conseco Fieldhouse right here on eBay (hopefully the search engines pick that line up. :) )

And finally, Kenny and Kanye. If you ever want to get a weird look from a Best Buy cashier, check out with a copy of Kenny Chesney’s new CD: Just Who I Am: Poets and Pirates, and Kanye’s new CD: Graduation. I have purchased 3 CD’s in the past 3 years. Kanye. Kanye. Kanye. (Kenny is for Jen, I promise.) Anytime Kanye drops a CD, I know that I can pop it in and listen to the whole thing front to back. If I’m on a 3 hour road trip, I’ll throw in College Dropout, Late Registration (maybe the Live album too), and Graduation, and just roll. Love the beats. Love the lyrics. Love the music. Had a talk with 3 other guys in line who were buying the Kanye CD too. I asked them if they were just buying it because of what 50 said. 2 said yes, 1 said he was getting them both. Honestly, I would have bought the Kanye CD either way, but just hearing what 50 said made me that much more willing to buy it on the release day. The cashier (after getting over the fact I was buying Kenny and Kanye) said that 50 was getting outsold like crazy at their store. If that holds true everywhere, expect 50 to back out of what he said, or ‘retire’ and pull a Jay-Z/Master P. You know it’ll happen.

I really like what Kanye is doing with the theme thing on his CD’s. I remember reading about 2 years ago, before the Late Registration dropped, that he had already planned the first 4 cd’s:

  • The College Dropout (2004)
  • Late Registration (2005)
  • Graduation (2007)
  • A Good Ass Job (?)

Clever concept. I am a little bummed that there are only 13 tracks on Graduation, but I guess when you cut out the skits from the first 2 CD’s, it’s pretty comparable. He won Grammy’s for the first 2 CD’s, and from what I’ve heard on the new one, Graduation should win a Grammy too. If not, he will probably just do what he always does.

Good stuff.
